Fees & Scholarships

Understand costs and explore available financial support.

MHPC includes a tuition fee and several opportunities for financial support. This page helps you understand both the cost of participation and the available funding options.

The tuition fee is €7,000, typically paid in three instalments during the academic year.

A limited number of full scholarships are offered by ICTP for candidates from developing countries. These scholarships typically cover tuition fees, living expenses and travel costs, allowing selected students to attend the programme with full financial support.

Additional funding opportunities may be offered by partner organisations, research institutes and companies. These scholarships may cover tuition fees and/or living expenses. They are managed independently from the MHPC application process, with their own deadlines and conditions. Applying for a scholarship does not replace the MHPC application, which must be submitted separately.

Specific scholarships may be available in collaboration with the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS), within the PNRR project TeRABIT. To be considered, candidates must apply through the standard application and send an email to info@mhpc.it expressing their interest. These opportunities are typically linked to defined research projects.

SISSA waives the MHPC tuition fee for its PhD students enrolled at the official start of the programme, and for recent SISSA PhD graduates (within 12 months) who are currently unemployed. A limited number of exemptions (up to six) are available.
